A vision that transforms lives
About the project
About the project
The Aldeia em Foco project was created by the Suel Abujamra Institute after an expedition to a remote area of Brazil to serve indigenous peoples. During this expedition, we realized that it was not enough to just reach the base pole close to the villages; It was essential to reach the villages directly, as the indigenous people face great difficulties in getting around and the roads often do not allow easy access.
Aldeia em Foco is an innovative project that aims to revolutionize the visual health of these people through an innovative model of ophthalmological care. Using portable equipment and teleophthalmology, we want to ensure that more people have access to quality eye care, overcoming geographical and logistical barriers.
Our impact
Visual health is one of the most valuable assets of human beings. Through vision, we have contact with more than 60% of the external world, making this one of the most important and enriching senses. The Aldeia em Foco Project aims to transform the lives of thousands of people and raise awareness about the importance of this essential heritage.
To date, we have reached thousands of indigenous people throughout Brazil, providing them with access to quality eye care and helping to preserve their vision and quality of life.
